It’s no secret that customers want to feel special. Days like Valentine’s Day present the perfect opportunity to remind customers that you care about them. Whether they are in a happy relationship, have a furry valentine, or are celebrating solo, they deserve to have recognition from the brands they interact with.

All in all, there is no excuse for leaving your customers feeling unloved this Valentine’s Day. Here are 7 ways you can ensure your customers know you have their back—today and every other day of the year.

1. Make sharing the love a little cheaper

Nothing says, “I love you” like giving your significant other something you got for free. At Qdoba this Valentine’s Day, you don’t have to be in a relationship to get two burritos for the price of one—you just have to show up hungry.

2. Give them space to commiserate

Not everyone is fortunate enough to be in a happy relationship on Valentine’s Day. Join the staff at Hooter’s as you shred your favorite picture of your ex—and enjoy a free plate of wings.

3. Make gift-giving easy

Whether you have a technology company, you’re a retailer, or you are in a different industry entirely, you likely have customers who are stressed about any day that requires gift-giving. Take a page from Nacho Flay’s (renowned cat chef’s) book and write a card to their loved ones for them.

4. Be organized for your customers

Most of us are not as put together as we would like to be. By sending shipping reminders, “in-your-cart” notifications, and promotional emails before the big holidays, you can keep your customers on schedule while increasing sales.

5. Support last-minute shoppers…

But for those times when even the reminders don’t even work, support your customers when they are in a rush. Sometimes this means offering expedited shipping, as The Sill, a home plant retailer, was promoting this Valentine’s Day.

6. … In more ways than one

If you can’t offer expedited shipping, try e-gifts instead. The Writer’s Studio, a creative writing school based in New York, offers courses in beginners’ courses in a wide range of subjects. Purchasing a class for someone is getting them a gift that keeps on giving—and it always has same-day delivery.

7. Make Gift Cards special again

Gift cards can feel like some of the least thoughtful gifts out there. However, some retailers are changing this reputation by promoting e-cards as the “eco-friendly” gift option. Give a credit with bloomscape, an online plant studio, with a personalized note, for example, and you can feel like you’re giving a gift that gives back.
